Natasia Courchesne-Krak, hired as a postdoc!

Natasia Courchesne-Krak earned her PhD in Interdisciplinary Research on Substance Use from the University of California, San Diego and San Diego State University. She earned her Master in Public Health (MPH) degree from San Diego State University. Her ongoing research investigates the impact of prenatal alcohol and other drug exposure on child neurodevelopment and neurobehavioral functioning. Natasia’s previous work investigated the impact of substance use on prenatal and postnatal maternal morbidity and differences in healthcare utilization among individuals with and without a substance use disorder using electronic medical record data. In this lab, Natasia integrates state-of-the art bioinformatics approaches with large-scale population genomics datasets to advance our understanding of the genetic contribution to substance use disorders and identify innovative strategies for treatment. In her free time, she enjoys surfing, yoga, hiking, and traveling.
